Planning for Your Commercial Septic System
Commercial septic projects or even large residential projects require a different skill set from the average septic system. From a design fit to purpose to an installation that works for the site, Dawn is one of a handful of installers in Oklahoma willing to tackle small public systems and the extensive permitting process that can come with them.
Large projects involving more than 1500 gpd of flow can involve months of planning and permitting. Bringing us in before construction starts can save you time and headaches once construction starts. Wedding venues, concert venues, MMJ grow operations, restaurants, RV parks, office parks, industrial parks, schools, municipal buildings… we’ve done it.
The Commercial Septic Project Process
The state of Oklahoma divides commercial projects into 3 categories.
- Less than 1500 gpd and less than 1.5 BOD
- Over 1500 gpd but less than 5000 gpd or less than 1500 gpd and over 1.5 BOD
- Over 5000 gpd
We provide design and installation services for systems that fall into categories 1 or 2. Both categories can require an alternative review for approval by the DEQ.
The permitting process for systems in category 2 can involve a lengthy and involved permitting process. Dawn has successfully submitted and received approval for countless projects.

Custom Residential Septic Systems
Most residential wastewater projects are straight forward. That’s why there are so many installers that do them. However, surprises can pop up that derail a homeowner or developer’s plans. Dawn has rescued multiple residential projects that other installers have walked away from due to the complexity. These projects will often require an alternative review by the DEQ. The most common examples of this are:
- The home is built on a lot smaller than a half acre.
- Multiple homes need to be served by the same system.
- Very large homes that exceed normal designed flows or available space
Dawn knows the state regulations better than most and, therefore, knows when there may be options available others haven’t thought of. She’s also willing to look outside the state to see what technologies are available and champion those for DEQ approval.

My air pump alarm when off on my septic system and so I called up Cyclone Septic the people that install the system and asked them about warranty but it was over two years so not under warranty. So I asked them if they had the parts for … More the pump and they had a kit so I bought that and repaired it myself and was up and work but unfortunately it did get one of the diaphams installed properly and it failed. So I had to buy another kit. As I was talk with them about getting another kit Dawn the owner said that she would give me a discount since they don’t have the diaphams. They very kind and knowledgeable and I would recommend them for parts and service to anybody that ask me. -

Outstanding service, had them pump our septic system back in 2024. There service was flawless and professional and freindly. Then when we where shopping for a Tornado shelter we found out they also do shelters, we thought why not they where … More great for the septic service why not go through them for the shelter, and now we had them install a 7 x 10 underground storm shelter. they went above and beyond to make sure everthing was perfect. I asked them if they could coat the outside of the concrete shelter with water proofing and they did. It was a custom request on my part. Since we also wanted to use the shelter as a root cellar for storing vegetables, fruits, nuts, or other foods in a cool, dark, and humid environment to extend their shelf life so cealing it from the outside. The coating reduces moisture transfer through the concrete walls. Also we figured if your going to spend money on a shelter to protect our lifes from threats we might as well also use it for other things when we're not hiding from a Tornado . LOL -
